Computers exercise
The aim of the exercise was to find a photograph of an interior and then draw it up on one of the software packages that we were taught. We never really did full on courses on the below mentioned software, but rather had one or two introduction lessons whereby we had to discover the program on our own. Self learning and discovery really is the best way to learn a new program.
The poster above depicts the software program Revit, I drew up the space on AutoCad then exported the 2D plan into Revit, from there I did the 3D modelling and lastly when i was happy with lighting and materials set to render.
The poster above was the same interior that was exported from Revit as a Collada file, and then imported into Lumion as a 3D model. Lumion is still a very new program, well considering it was first designed to create gaming software, now architecture firms all over are using Lumion to create fast depictions of 3D spaces as well as walk through videos and animations.
The final poster of the same interior depicts 3ds Max, also a very new program to us at this stage, the possibilities of this program are endless. I yet again exported from Revit, the complete model and applied new textures and lighting on 3ds Max.
The next set of posters was a continuation of the software package Lumion, where we had to take our current design at that time and create external views of the venue and surrounding landscape. We had the freedom to play around with weather settings as well as sun position and angles. With Lumion one is able to place people, plants and objects in order to make the setting more realistic.
